Couple’s Counseling
Relationships Are Complex—They Shouldn’t Have to Be Impossible
Every relationship comes with its own challenges. Maybe communication feels like a constant struggle, or you keep getting stuck in the same frustrating patterns. Maybe there’s been a rupture—big or small—that needs healing. Or maybe you just want to strengthen your connection, deepen intimacy, and learn how to navigate conflict before it becomes overwhelming.
Whatever’s bringing you here, couples therapy is about creating a space where you and your partner(s) can be heard, understood, and supported in a way that fosters real connection.
How I Work
I don’t believe in generic relationship advice or one-size-fits-all therapy. Every relationship is different, and my approach reflects that. My work integrates:
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) – Helping partners understand and shift their emotional responses to build stronger attachment and deeper trust.
Somatic & Experiential Work – Relationships aren’t just intellectual—they live in the body. We’ll use interactive, movement-based, and nervous-system-informed techniques to help you recognize and shift patterns in real time.
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) – Learning how to express needs and boundaries in a way that fosters understanding rather than conflict.
Person-in-Environment Approach – Your relationship doesn’t exist in a vacuum; we’ll consider the impact of family dynamics, social expectations, and personal histories.
Restorative Practices – Moving beyond blame to focus on repair, accountability, and sustainable growth within the relationship.
Psychoeducation on Healthy Relationships – Providing practical tools to build communication, manage conflict, and navigate intimacy in a way that aligns with your values.
Sessions aren’t just about talking about the relationship; they’re about practicing new ways of engaging with each other, in the moment, with real-time guidance and support.
Who I Work With
I work with all kinds of relationships, including:
✅ Couples looking to improve communication, rebuild trust, or deepen intimacy
✅ Partners navigating neurodivergence (ADHD, autism, etc.) within their relationship
✅ People exploring ethical non-monogamy or polyamory and wanting support in navigating boundaries, agreements, and connection
✅ Kink-affirming and LGBTQIA+ couples who want therapy that actually understands their dynamics and needs
✅ Partners dealing with external stressors—family, work, big life transitions—that are straining the relationship
Session Length & Structure
You can choose the session length that works best for your relationship’s needs:
60-Minute Sessions – A focused space for working through specific issues, building communication skills, and making steady progress over time.
90-Minute Sessions – Ideal for deeper work, especially if you’re navigating complex dynamics or want space to practice communication exercises and conflict resolution strategies without feeling rushed.
What to Expect
Couples counseling isn’t just about hashing out old fights—it’s about creating a new way of being in a relationship together. Here’s what you can expect:
First Session: Understanding the Relationship – We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what’s working, what’s not, and what each of you hopes to get out of therapy. I’ll also get a sense of how you communicate, what your patterns are, and where we need to start.
Ongoing Sessions: Practicing, Not Just Talking – Therapy is an active process. Expect interactive exercises, communication practice, and nervous system regulation techniques to help shift the way you experience and engage in the relationship.
A Strengths-Based Approach – This isn’t about figuring out who’s right or wrong. It’s about learning how to truly see each other, work through conflict in a way that strengthens your bond, and build a relationship that works for you.
